London fashion week took place over five full days, between events, presentations and shows set in original and incredible locations, without forgetting two big buzz moments which were without doubt the best-received highlights of fashion month. beginning with the presence of the queen of england who attended her first ever fashion show, sitting front row at richard quin to whom she awarded the ‘queen elizabeth ii award for british design’. the prize will from now on be awarded annually. the second big buzz moment: the departure of christopher bailey after 17 years at burberry. his last collection gathered men and women together for spring/summer 2018, with numerous stars and friends of the house sat front row for an emotional show, for which the designer wanted to show his support for the lgbt community + with rainbow colours integrated with the famous burberry check right down to the light spectrum during the finale. another beautiful moment, the spanish brand delpozo who left new york behind to come and show in london, with a collection imagined by josep font based around waists marked with a floral belt but also vibrant colours and sequins. and there was plenty of shine at the london shows. from the on-trend designer michael halpern and his ready to dance girls to the mm6 maison margiela presentation where everything, from the furniture to the clothes was painted silver. even erdem dared touch of sequin with his highly praised show. finally two shows to talk about, which blended creativity and talent. that of jonathan anderson for is eponymous label, favouring fluidity and harmony with an arty touch, and mulberry. a collection presented for summer 2018, available to buy straight away with a sublime finale and the singer alison goldfrapp, summing up all of london fashion week where energy, passion and originality were at their best. music bandit & nikit - 2018 + music from the mulberry show (for use only in context of the show)
