Guy Laroche Spring Summer Women Collection 2013 in Paris (itw)

Marcel Marongiu advocates the return of a sophisticated and well-dressed woman. For the collection, Guy Laroche, the designer offers all variants of the suit. An idea inspired by a photograph of David Bowie (whom he is a fan) in a suit in 1975. A graphic spirit is added which he wanted to give to the garments with sharp and precise lines accentuated by the use of a colour palette ranging from white and navy blue. Bra tops, also a master piece of his wardrobe, can be worn with trousers or a skirt and accentuates the architectural side of this wardrobe. And some prints that punctuate the show evoke an exotic trip to Mexico!

Music from fashion show

Interview Marcel Marongiu :At the beginning it was man's suit, it started with a picture of David Bowie on stage in Philadelphia in 1975, I'm a big fan of David Bowie, and he only wore suits that were a little 40s inspired, slightly oversized, and I was intrigued and I wanted to explore it and I thought `what does it look like on a woman?' So evidently as I did not want black, there isn't a single black piece, so what is the most chic, if not it's the navy blue and white, so I explored everything that a suit can become on a woman, so the Spencer suit, the frock coat, trousers, Bermuda shorts, long skirts, bra tops, everything that I could have imagined.

The big return of the total look, I want to fight for it, I'm fed up of the t-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, heels and the little bag that, I don't want to see them anymore!I want women to be well dressed, there are none left and it is time they return.
