Just short of a year after his appointment as the crystal maker’s CEO, Robert Buchbauer has reaffirmed the 126-year old company’s dedication to sustainability with the announcement of six new key commitments.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America and the charitable foundation run by crystal maker Swarovski have partnered up to launch a $30,000 annual scholarship for fashion students innovating with sustainable systems.
Spanish designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo has presented his ‘Nuevo Día’ collection with a video set amongst the heliostats of a thermosolar power plant. Inspired by pacifism, Palomo’s bywords are “freedom and comfort.”
Participants -- from the CFDA and PVH, to designers Gabriela Hearst and Anyango Mpinga -- will contribute to the month-long sustainability-focused event led by Kerry Bannigan's The Conscious Fashion Campaign.
