Puma appoints new General Manager for team sports
Puma has recently appointed Matthias Mecking as General Manager of the Teamsport business unit. In this role, Matthias Mecking will be in charge of the general and marketing management for all team sports segments, including footwear, apparel and accessories.
He succeeds Filip Trulsson, who will ensure a smooth transition by supporting Matthias Mecking before taking on new functions within Puma.
Matthias Mecking has worked for more than 10 years within the Adidas group. Until last January he was Senior Project Management Director. From 2007 to July 2015, Matthias Mecking was also the director of the Football footwear and hardware business unit at Adidas. He will now be based at Puma headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany, and will report to CEO Bjørn Gulden.
