Fat Face expands outlet presence with new Dalton Park store
Fat Face is planning to open an outlet store at Dalton Park in County Durham following a £2.6m refurbishment programme at the outlet centre.
The fashion and lifestyle retailer will be bringing its clothing and accessories collections to the shopping destination in the summer, with work on the 3,490 sq ft unit beginning next month.
Daren Humphrey, head of acquisitions & estates at Fat Face, commented: “The outlet market remains fairly new to us, but it is one that we are very excited to be expanding into, and complements our growth in other areas, including new stores in the USA, a new distribution centre and our updated website.
“As such, we look forward to joining the line-up at Dalton Park where we can make the most of both this popular scheme as well as the growing popularity of outlet retail.”
Dalton Park has recently undergone a series of works to improve the shopping experience. In addition to modernising the centre’s shopfronts, changes included the installation of prominent façades and mall paving, as well as substantial landscaping.
The designer outlet, managed by Realm, has seen footfall increase by 5.3% in the year to date, with sales increase by 4.4% in the same period.
Colin Brooks, Managing Director of Realm, commented: “Dalton Park has enjoyed strong footfall and sales figures over the past year, and with the refurbishment works now complete, trading figures have increased further, testament to the growing popularity of both the scheme and discount shopping among consumers.
“We are very happy to welcome Fat Face to Dalton Park, where it will be well-placed to take advantage of the strong performance and the enhanced customer experience at the scheme, and will complement the impressive retail mix.”
Dalton Park is also home to Adidas, Ben Sherman, Bench, Berghaus, Gap, Levi’s and Radley.
