Asos is upping its digital game this Christmas with the launch of a virtual gift assistant on its Facebook page to help millennials find the best gifts for their family and friends.

Available for shoppers in the UK and France during the Christmas period, the chatbot asks a series of carefully considered and fun questions such as ‘What item would most likely fall out of their bag’ to create a narrowed down selection of gift suggestions.

The service has been designed as a help for shoppers, as Asos sells more than 85,000 products on its site, including numerous potential presents.

Customers have also the option to ‘choose love’, and purchase an item from the charitable range for Help Refugees where 100% of the proceeds are donated to the charity.

The virtual gift assistant is part of a series of efforts launched by Asos this year to stay on top of the market. Earlier this year, the company introduced a virtual assistant called Ava and has recently joined the try-before-you-buy trend by giving customers the new option to ‘Pay Later’.
