According to the New West End Company, which represents over 600 companies, stores located on London’s Oxford Street, Bond Street and Regent Street will see a sales rise of 1.2% from 2014 in the six weeks to Christmas.

Footfall, however, is expected to decrease 1.5% from 2014 due to the weaker Russian rouble and the economic slowdown in China, which impacts the number of visitors from these countries.

The drop in footfall will be offset by higher spending, noted the New West End Company.

The shopping spree should begin with the upcoming Black Friday, taking place on November 27.

In the West End, the festive period will be kicked off on November 1 by Kylie Minogue, who will switch on Oxford Circus’s Christmas lights with a show outside a Pandora store.
