Watches of Switzerland opens first Longines boutique in Scotland
Will the Watches of Switzerland Group (WOSG) store opening engine ever run out of steam? It certainly doesn't seem to be anywhere close to doing that at the moment.
Its opening programme continues at pace and the latest development is the company announcing that it has opened its first monobrand boutique with Swiss watch brand Longines.
The Glasgow location is the first Longines boutique in Scotland and the first to be operated by WOSG in the UK (the brand already operates its own store in London). It’s on Buchanan Street, in the heart of Glasgow city centre.
It features the brand’s popular timepieces, as well as new launches, and the Watches of Switzerland Group exclusive HydroConquest set, which enables clients to buy the watch with a bracelet and interchangeable NATO strap.
As to the shop itself, from the outside, “the core values of the winged hourglass company are highlighted by a sleek, elegant façade giving pride of place to a selection of carefully selected timepieces”.
Inside, there’s rich dark mahogany cabinetry, a custom-made navy-blue diamond padded back wall, plush cream leather accents, plus a historic discovery wall detailing references to the brand’s universe, its long-standing passion for equestrian sports and aviation.
Longines CEO Matthias Breschan said the new boutique "is an important step in the development of the brand in the UK market”.
