Luxury accessories brand Want Les Essentiels this week launched its first women’s footwear collection. The release comes one year after the launch of the brand’s first-ever men’s footwear collection.

The women’s footwear collection consists of feminine derbies and sneakers and original ankle boots that build on the men’s footwear styles that launched in 2015. Women’s footwear styles include the popular Lennon sneaker, the Cordova crepe derby, Menara wedge derby, Beatrix ankle boot and Menara high zip boot that feature materials such as Italian leather, black and mocha patent leather and suede in earth tones.

The “modern woman on the go” inspired the twin co-founders and designers Byron and Dexter Peart to produce a collection that emphasizes comfort, quality, and practicality over trends.

“We spend a lot of time thinking about the needs of people on-the-go as they rapidly move through life”, says Dexter Peart. “Following the success of our men’s footwear collection which addresses many of these needs, we began to ask what effortless, comfortable and beautiful footwear the modern woman needs.”

2015 and 2016 have been a year of firsts for Want Les Essentiels. The brand successfully expanded into footwear and opened its first US boutique in New York City in 2015, and in 2016, it launched its first-ever eyewear collaboration with Garrett Leight California Optical.

The Want Les Essentiels women’s footwear collection is available on the Want Les Essentiels website, and at the brand’s New York City flagship store and Want Apothecary stores in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Prices range from $295 to $595.
