Victoria’s Secret has signed a deal with Standard Life Investments to open a 9,000 sq ft unit in Churchill Square, Brighton.

The US lingerie label will take a unit formerly occupied by HMV in Churchill Square’s Upper Mall, alongside River Island, Next, Fossil and Pull & Bear. Set to open in the spring, the store will be one of 30 locations Victoria’s Secret plans to open across the UK. It will sell the full range of lingerie as well as the Pink brand aimed at the younger market.

Additionally, Standard Life has announced that Zara will be upsizing its current store to create a 37,000 sq ft flagship at Churchill Square. The popular Spanish retailer will take the majority of a store previously occupied by BHS.

“The arrival of Victoria’s Secret illustrates Churchill Square’s continuing appeal to leading international fashion retailers, which is reinforced by Zara doubling its presence after 10 years at the centre. These lettings will boost the centre’s appeal as a major fashion shopping destination in the South East attracting millions of shoppers each year,” said Standard Life Investments head of UK retail Ed Jenkins.

Churchill Square has more than 80 stores including H&M, Office, Mothercare, Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Zara Home and Urban Outfitters.
