Victoria's Secret to debut at Intu Lakeside in Essex

The American lingerie brand is opening a store at Intu Lakeside shopping centre in Essex this autumn. The new 11,000 sq ft store will be situated in a prime location on the upper mall, next to other top international retailers including MAC, Hugo Boss, Tag Heuer, Goldsmiths Boutique, Hamleys and recently opened, Kurt Geiger.

Julian Wilkinson, regional director of Intu, said: “With 70 per cent of customers being female and with a keen eye for fashion, we’re confident that an aspirational lingerie brand like Victoria’s Secret will flourish.”

Victoria's Secret, which is famous worldwide for its annual fashion show featuring some of the world's leading fashion models, also has stores in London, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham.

The store opening of the American lingerie retailer at Intu Lakeside is a part of the shopping centre’s developing retail offer, as it aims to create a retail and leisure mix that meets the needs of its 30 million annual customers. Intu Lakeside has also acquired permission for a £100 million leisure development to create cafés, restaurants and family entertainment venues focussed around a new public square.
