Opposite the incoming Louis Vuitton store in Paris, Stella McCartney will open a new store -- in the former place of chocolatier Jean-Paul Hévin -- on rue Saint-Honoré, at the end of May.

It will be the second store in Paris for the designer, who already has a shop at Galerie de Valois, in the Jardins du Palais-Royal, as well as corners in the two major Paris department stores -- Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.

Consisting of a ground floor spanning 100 square metres, and a 1st floor of 120 square metres, the new space will stock the Stella McCartney women's collection, with menswear exclusively stocked at Galerie de Valois.

Located on 231 rue Saint-Honoré, the store will open on one of the most sought after high-end retail strips in Paris, with the rental price exceeding 13,000 euros/m²/year (11,000 pounds/m²/year), according to local newspaper Le Parisien. It's the third most expensive street in the French capital after avenue Montaigne (15,000 euros) and the Champs-Elysées (20,000 euros).

For several months now, other luxury stores on the same street have taken to improving their boutiques: Chantal Thomass is still being renovated, while Longchamp and Balenciaga (which recently opened a flagship store at number 346) have recently made updates.
