Royal and fashion fans rejoiced when Meghan Markle sported a bespoke white Stella McCartney gown for her wedding reception, and it turns out the appearance was a taster for the luxury brand’s latest venture: bridal.

‘Made with Love’ is the name of Stella McCartney’s first bridal collection, launched at the brand’s stores in the UK, US, China and Japan.

It includes a high-neck gown which is also identical to the one the Duchess of Sussex wore as she and Prince Harry stepped out for the first time as husband and wife.

There is also a white two-piece suit, and a lace jumpsuit, as well as a series of pristine white dresses. The brand said each piece is made in Italy by factories in Puglia, Abruzzo and Marche, with only sustainable viscose and other environmentally-friendly materials.

Speaking about the bridal range, the designer said: “It’s something that I feel very passionately about and is very close to my heart. I think that in this day and age the wedding day is something very different to how it’s traditionally perceived, and I think that the house of Stella McCartney really represents something a little more effortless.”

Stella McCartney had teased a bridal collection when she launched a capsule collection of 46 replicas of Markle’s wedding reception back in June. Available in lily-white and onyx-black, the line was the first chapter of her ‘Made with Love’ collection.

Since the royal wedding, several high street brands have recreated the look.
