British accessories brand Sophie Hulme is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special campaign and a new outerwear capsule collection.

The London-based brand, known for its leather handbags, counts the opening of its first permanent boutique on London’s Chiltern Street earlier this year as one of its achievements over the last decade.

And while the brand is primarily known for creating sleek bags with functional details, it said coats have also been part of its history since its launch in 2008. For Hulme, the creative director behind the brand, buying a coat is like buying a bag - it’s a purchase for life.

This is why the premium brand has released a capsule collection of three coats and two biker jackets, including previous styles which have been brought back because of their popularity. With prices starting from £695, the collection is due to launch exclusively at the Chiltern Street store and online.

To support the launch and mark its 10th anniversary,  Sophie Hulme recruited a cast of cheerful 10-year-olds to show off the outerwear capsule and Resort 19 bag styles in a campaign shot by London-based photographer Luke Stephenson.

“I can’t quite believe it’s ten years- it’s gone so quickly,” Hulme commented on the 10th anniversary. “I feel really proud to have achieved what we have in such a tough industry up against such huge brands. It has been so exciting to be in such amazing stores and magazines over the years, but I still get such huge satisfaction from seeing someone on the street carrying or wearing one of my products.

“I really believe in our premise of making beautiful things for real people to enjoy in real life, and acting against fast fashion and wastefulness by making lasting pieces not influenced by trends.”
