Selfridges has unveiled its Christmas windows

British retailer Selfridges has become the first department store to unveil its 2016 Christmas windows and in-store displays.

This year’s theme, Shine On!, brings Santa back as the star of the window scheme after several years away from the spotlight. Featured against different snowy Alpine backdrops in a variety of retro party scenarios, he invites onlookers to celebrate the season and shows them how to party in style.

The window displays use more than 100 disco balls and a state-of-the-art sound system to narrate a happy, unconventional Christmas theme. The message is simple: “celebrate yourself (you deserve it); celebrate your loved ones (and not just your family) and turn every day during the season into a party.” 

In addition to the window campaign, Selfridges will be offering an exclusive theatrical production by risqué London entertainment company Sink The Pink. The Panto play, staged at the London store’s new commercial theatre, will be based on famous fairy-tales but interpreted for a grown-up audience.

Children’s theatre Big Fish Little Fish will also host kids-friendly afternoon raves throughout December.
