Positive Luxury, an award-winning sustainability platform, has opened nominations for the inaugural Positive Luxury Awards which will be held in London in February 2020.

Eco-friendly luxury brands are being invited to enter the competition, introduced by the Positive Luxury to recognise the companies and individuals who are working towards driving positive change in businesses and the world.

It is the latest initiative championed by the digital platform as part of its efforts to celebrate sustainable luxury brands. Led by global sustainability expert Diana Verde Nieto, Positive Luxury awards a butterfly mark to luxury brands if they can demonstrate their measurable impact and commitment to sustainability.

Positive Luxury has brought together 12 global business leaders to create the judging panel, including American-British model Arizona Muse; UN officer Simone Cipriani; and Julia Hailes, author of The New Green Consumer Guide.

BFC board member Frances Corner; model and activist Amber Valetta; and Burak Cakmak, Dean of Fashion at Parsons School of Design also sit on the panel of judges.

“We are thrilled to be launching The Positive Luxury Awards 2020, that celebrates organisations embracing sustainability as a business strategy, beyond supply chain,” said Positive Luxury founder Diana Verde Nieto.

“For that very reason, The Positive Luxury Awards will honour leadership in sustainability, awarding people and companies with unparalleled innovation that will effect positive and sustainable change in our world.”

The awards will include 10 categories, with all winners taking home an ethically-made trophy designed by students from a top design school.

Applications close on 1 September.
