Omega opens new flagship stores in Los Angeles and Seattle

Omega has just opened a new flagship store at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, located in the heart of Seattle at 411 University Street. As the Pacific Northwest’s only AAA Five Diamond hotel, Fairmont Olympic has become a well-known, luxury destination for shoppers.

Omega's president Stephen Urquhart celebrated the opening of the boutique with a cocktail reception on Tuesday Dec. 7, which was held in conjunction with the Seattle Art Museum as a recognition of the partnership between the brand and the museum.

A few days later, Mr. Urquhart made his way to Los Angeles to celebrate the brand’s other flagship store opening at Beverly Center; LA’s premier fashion destination. Beverly Centre is located at 8500 Beverly Boulevard and Omega’s store can be found on Level 7, near Center Court.

The Seattle and Los Angeles boutiques are an important part of Omega’s larger retail strategy. In December 2000, Nicolas Hayek, the Chairman of the Swatch Group, made an announcement that Omega's ambitious goal was to extend the corporate boutique network to include 50 retail shops devoted exclusively to Omega products within ten years. By 2008, Omega had already met that target.

“There are a number of reasons for us to build up our network in the U.S.A. We are in a strong position thanks to our global success and we believe in America. We are confident that it is an ideal time to make this major commitment there,” said Urquhart.

These stores are two of the nine Omega boutiques to open in the United States this year, with twenty more to come in 2011.
