For the group, which operates more than 500 directly-owned womenswear stores in the UK, Ireland and Europe, the deal marks a new chapter in the menswear segment.

The Idle Man is a fairly new menswear player, having launched in the spring of 2014, but it has found a firm place in the men’s fashion market thanks to founder Oliver Tezcan’s former Asos experience.

The retailer curates several men’s brands, which are sold alongside its own three labels: Idle Projects, its premium label; The Idle Man, its fashion label; and 'T.I.M', the basics label. All three are designed and sourced in the brand’s Shoreditch headquarters in London.

Tezcan will continue to lead The Idle Man as managing director and will report directly to Group CEO Hash Ladha.

Hash Ladha, Oasis and Warehouse Group chief executive said: “We are delighted to welcome Oliver and the team at The Idle Man to the group. This is an exciting acquisition for us. We can bring scale to The Idle Man’s proposition as well as infrastructure support, and the brand allows us to tap into the growing demand for fashionable menswear through a credible and well-established brand. The Idle Man’s team will bring invaluable expertise to the group and I am looking forward to working with them.”

By joining the Oasis and Warehouse Group, The Idle Man will benefit from its established supply chain and infrastructure, which means it will be able to expand its production and grow the business.

Oliver Tezcan, MD and founder of the Idle Man said: “We are pleased to join the Oasis and Warehouse Group which has infrastructure, expertise and scale to help further develop our proposition."

"This is the start of a very exciting journey for us, we will now have a platform from which we can scale up, attract new customers and develop our own brand wholesale proposition and international business.”
