Norton launches into clothing with Pepe Jeans. The Spanish group, which heads its eponymous brand and Hackett London, is launching the first Norton collection for the spring/summer 2016 named after the historic British motorcycle brand, which was created at the end of the 19th century and whose fans have included stars like Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood.

Norton enters the fashion world in summer 2016.

The group, owned by M1 (already behind Façonnable) since February 2015 and L Capital Asia, has recently signed a worldwide licence agreement for clothing, for an initial term of ten years.

"It's an authentic line that touches upon a more upmarket clientèle than Pepe. Initially, there won't by any technical apparel," said Philippe Atlani, director of the French subsidiary. In Europe, the line has only been launched in Paris, Madrid and Milan, and Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands for now.

The mixed collection features from 80 to 100 items, with sports jackets, t-shirts, shirts and trousers. Retail prices for a jacket range between €350 and €390, for jeans between €110 and €140, and for a t-shirt between €35 and €45.
