And it’s a statement opening for the West Midlands shopping centre’s operator Sovereign Centros with the speedy turnaround to open the 10,165 sq ft space marking the US sportswear giant’s regional UK debut for Nike Unite, as well as being the first for the concept in a shopping centre environment.

Described as “a Nike store for the family”, the new store layout is put together with a community-focused lens, “displaying the store's wide range of products in an easily accessible manner for customers”.

Its offer includes a wide selection of signature Nike footwear, apparel, and accessories across its women, men, and kids' collections as well as select seasonal offerings.

It becomes the second major Merry Hill signing this spring with, women’s fashion brand Vanilla announcing its statement store also opening there.

Alistair Winning, Asset Manager at Sovereign Centros, said the latest successes for the destination come on top of a “hugely successful 2022”, with more than 175,000 sq ft of new deals secured throughout the calendar year.

Leading retailers such as Ted Baker and Kurt Geiger opened new stores, and household names including H&M and Beaverbrooks committed to lease renewals and refurbished units.
