Mode City prepares for an earlier Summer edition

This year, professionals in the swimwear and lingerie industries may note that Mode City is taking place a lot sooner than usual. Indeed, the Parisian trade show has decided to change its dates to July 9-11 in order to fall right at the beginning of the season, something which seems to have pleased the exhibitors. Now the organisers only have to wait a few more days to find out what visitors will think of the change.

By leaving the slot in September with most of the other trade shows, Mode City has changed locations to Hall 1 at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre in Paris. The same goes for Interfilière, another lingerie and beachwear trade show who will be exhibiting next to Mode City. While the latter will host 330 exhibitors, Mode City has announced that it expects around 550 brands, evenly split between swimwear and lingerie, with a few dozen more brands than last year. Séverine Marchesi, the fair’s organiser, has confirmed the return of some important brands, such as Aubade, Gossard and Gottex, but also of some first-timers, such as Desigual or Little Marcel.

A brand new space in the trade show, named Limited Edition, will be reserved to around 60 young designers and will serve as a big workshop that will help them meet buyers. Mode Cit was able to create this new space thanks to its relocation to Hall 1.

The new decoration is also going to be based around a Summer theme, with a beach and sunny atmosphere. This edtition will also be seeing the return of “L’Ultra”, an evening catwalk show that brings all professionals together. Around 700 VIP guests are expected to be there on Saturday 9th at Place Vendôme.
