Outlet malls specialist McArthurGlen has revealed the first collection of premium brands for its new £160 million, 285,000 sq ft development, Designer Outlet West Midlands.

McArthurGlen's soon-to-open West Midlands location has announced its first tenants

The outlet centre opens early next year and while it might seem like a tough time to unveil a major new retail destination, outlets have been among the sites to see the fastest recovery post-lockdown.

The brands opening there will include Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Calvin Klein, Ted Baker, Reiss and Kurt Geiger, as well as sportswear giant Adidas and French cookware brand Le Creuset. As part of the overall experience, there will also be a Starbucks and Asian-inspired restaurant Wagamama, along with other food and beverage (F&B) brands.

The company said it will announce the full collection of premium fashion, lifestyle and F&B stores later in the year once the final stages of construction near completion.

The firm’s UK Leasing Director, Tom Miklausic, said the opening will be a strong opportunity “to continue growing our mutual business with our brand partners, with some six million shoppers living within an hour’s drive of the centre.”

The centre is just 30 minutes from Birmingham and will host up to 80 brands. It will also create around 1,000 new retail jobs, with the company saying this will support around £20 million of employment income each year.

West Midlands will be the firm’s seventh UK location, joining its Designer Outlets in Ashford, Bridgend, Cheshire Oaks, East Midlands, Swindon and York. It will also be its 26th centre in Europe and Canada.
