Mayhoola donates €1 million to emergency field hospital in Madrid

Mayhoola, the group that controls Valentino, Balmain and Pal Zileri, has made a €1 million donation to the fight against Covid-19.
 
The investment vehicle controlled by the Qatari royal family will fund the expansion of the emergency field hospital Covid-19 IFEMA, which was constructed rapidly within the Madrid Exhibition Center.

 
Ten days ago, Mayhoola also donated €1 million to the Intensive Care Treatment Unit (ICU) at ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco Hospital in Milan, as well as an equal amount to Protezione Civile Italiana, the main Italian government organization that handles prediction, prevention and management of national emergencies.
 
The temporary healthcare facility in Madrid is designed to accommodate 1,300 patients suffering from Covid-19. Spain was one of the worst-hit countries in the pandemic. According to John Hopkins University, there have been 9,387 deaths and over 104,000 Covid-19 cases in Spain as of this morning at 9PM CET.

“The extraordinary temporary hospital facility will serve to improve the handling of the health emergency situation in Madrid, one of the more affected cities in Spain by the pandemic,” noted Mayhoola in a release.
 
Mayhoola’s €1 million gift will contribute towards the investment of the development of the emergency field hospital, which will become the largest hospital structure of the Madrid Community. Located in eastern Madrid, the exhibition center began its conversion into a hospital on March 22.
