The company just announced that the latest collaborator for M&S & is Michael van der Ham, the designer who graduated from Central Saint Martins and has been showing at London Fashion Week since 2009.

Van der Ham worked alongside the Marks & Spencer design team to create an eight-piece accessories collection, which includes shoes and bags and was inspired by the designer's love of eclectic fabric composition, as well as his surprising use of colour. It toys with van der Ham's signature style for the Spring season, and has a vivid colour palette of acid yellow, slate grey and electric blue.

"Contrasting fabrications and the layering of textures have always inspired my creative; so I wanted to produce a capsule collection of accessories that was true to this aesthetic, but with a playful Spring edge," says van der Ham.

Karen Peacock, Head of Design for Footwear & Accessories, comments: "Michael’s unique approach to design and textiles has been hugely inspiring to work alongside, as his signature style has been elegantly interpreted for the Marks & Spencer consumer."

The M&S & Michael van der Ham collection will launch on April 14 and retail from £25. The first of the M&S & collaborations was with Alexa Chung in February this year, as the retailer is taking steps to revive its fashion sales, which slumped over Christmas. It also recently launched kidswear with Jourdan Dunn and an ethical capsule collection with Livia Firth.
