London Fashion Week provisional schedule revealed; Burberry, Newgen are key

Published
Dec 19, 2022

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has released the provisional schedule for London Fashion Week (LFW) that takes place from 17-21 February. It’s still planned to be a digital-physical hybrid — a format established as a reaction to the early days of the pandemic — but it should also be the first relatively ‘normal’ LFW since before the pandemic.

The return to normality should have happened at September’s SS23 LFW, but was affected by the death of the Queen with shows and events being cancelled and rescheduled.

The provisional schedule for AW23 features both menswear and womenswear designers, including British brand Burberry, perhaps the hottest ticket in town as it will be the first collection under the new creative direction of Daniel Lee

Further highlights will include Christopher Kane, Erdem, Molly Goddard, Roksanda and Simone Rocha

We won’t know the exact dates and times of the physical and digital shows and presentations until January, however.

The BFC also said that it will have an “an exciting line-up of events and activations to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its internationally celebrated Newgen initiative”.

BFC Newgen is the "most established designer development scheme globally”, having been set up in 1993.

The year-long celebration will kick off at LFW in February and “will provide an opportunity for the creative community to come together”.

The Newgen Show Space will return to The Old Selfridges Hotel with participating designers on schedule this time to include Ahluwalia, Ancuta Sarca, Asai, Chet Lo, Conner Ives, Di Petra, Feben, Harri, Helen Kirkum, Labrum London, Leo Carlton, Masha Popova, Nensi Dojaka, Paolo Carzana, Robyn Lynch, Roker, SS Daley, Saul Nash, Sinéad O'Dwyer and Yuhan Wang.

LFW and Ukrainian Fashion Week will also present three Ukrainian designers — Frolov, Kseniaschnaider, and Paskal — as part of the ‘Support Ukrainian Fashion’ initiative.
