The Fashion Business School at London College of Fashion is opening a unique exhibition with student and graduate work at London City Island, a riverside development in Canary Wharf, next week.

This is part of a collaboration between LCF and EcoWorld Ballymore, the developer of London City Island in an effort to build the development’s position as a creative hub in East London.

The exhibition will be hosted in Arebyte’s gallery space, and bring together a mix of displays, immersive content, panel discussions and networking opportunities. Called #FashionMeansBusiness, it will centre around the themes of People, Planet, Profit and Purpose, informing the students’ digital artwork and events.

The digital installations will be accompanies by a number of cubed posters, 2 metre abstract hangers will also be installed, providing detailed information on the academic foundation of each project.

London City Island has also organised a 360° industry discussion  with a panel of experts including Will Andrews, head of training at Coty; Palvinder Mann, fragrance marketing manager; Hannah Roberts, director & global head of trend and innovation at Unilever; and Lizzy Olstrom aka Odette Toilette, fragrance curator. The discussion will explore the value of capitalising on our olfactory sense in an evolving multisensory world.

Commenting on the launch of the exhibition, Rob Lakin, Creative Director of the Fashion Business School, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit at London City Island. The development’s commitment to the arts is admirable and our students are excited to showcase their work to a new audience.”

The partnership marks the start of a new era for the London College of Fashion, which is relocating to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford in 2022.

#FashionMeansBusiness will be held on 25-29 April at London City Island.
