The signing follows a successful first quarter for the shopping and leisure destination, which opened in September 2017 after a £240 million regeneration.

According to a statement, The Lexicon has boosted visitor numbers to Bracknell town centre by almost four times the previous figure, compared with before the urban regeneration project began.

Skechers will open a 5,226 sq ft store on Braccan Walk. Offering a selection of over 3,000 performance and lifestyle footwear styles, the company will join other footwear retailers at The Lexicon including Timberland, Foot Locker, Office and Clarks.

International tea, coffee and cocoa retailer, Whittard of Chelsea is also planning to open a store on the Avenue.

Jessica Berney, Head of Retail at Schroder Real Estate, said: “We’re delighted to have secured two further lettings at The Lexicon, demonstrating the ongoing interest in the development from both customers and national and international retailers alike.

“The Lexicon has already started to prove itself as the Berkshire destination of choice with footfall of 5.8 million achieved in the four months since launch with up to 16 million for the year projected.”

Bracknell town centre now totals one million sq ft of retail, dining and leisure space, including the existing adjacent Princess Square shopping centre and the 580,000 sq ft of new build at The Lexicon. The scheme is anchored by Marks & Spencer and Fenwick, and is also home to Superdry, Next, H&M, Timberland, Jack Wills, L’Occitane, Topshop, Flying Tiger Copenhagen and Pandora.
