K-Way, the French-born but Italian-owned sportswear label, has launched a new collab collection with rugby club Le Stade Français.

One of two major league Parisian rugby teams in the Top 14, the leading French professional division, Stade Français has a long-standing tradition of provocative campaigns and happening marketing.

In recent years, the club caused a sensation with a series of calendars and books called Dieux du Stade, featuring star players in risqué poses, like ancient Olympians in showers and hot-tubs.

This new sporting-sportswear combo - entiled Le Stade Français x K-Way - has revamped two iconic windbreakers of K-Way, a brand created in 1965 by French entrepreneur Léon-Claude Duhamel, who based his concept on the then-revolutionary material, durable nylon fabric.

Each of the two new looks are made up of a new color pattern with the famous pink lightning bolt motif, the emblematic element of the visual identity of Stade Français.

Manufactured in rip-stop nylon, they shorter version is entitled Le Vrai Claude, while the longer model is called Vrai Eiffel. Hooded windcheaters with a difference, they both carry the K-Way logo, as does a fanny pack, or as the French term it, une banane.

Functional, light, technical, waterproof and breathable, and made in alternating plain and printed nylon.

Prices vary from €149 for the Vrai Eiffel; €119 for the Vrai Claude and €69 for the banane, known as Le Vrai Killian, the mini collection began retailing online this week.
