Joules/Reskinned to launch ReWear take-back/resale programme

Reducing waste and extending product life are key elements in the fashion industry’s sustainability plan. So British lifestyle brand Joules has partnered with clothing platform Reskinned in a take-back and resale programme called ‘Joules ReWear’.

Joules Group

The resale platform is due to launch later this year, allowing shoppers to purchase those “pre-loved items ready for a new home”.

The partnership will enable Joules customers to return any pre-owned Joules clothing, footwear or accessories, in any condition, “to be re-homed or otherwise responsibly recycled, helping them better support and ‘invest in our planet’ in line with the objectives of this year’s Earth Day”.

Reskinned will power the take-back technology behind the Joules website allowing customers to return their clothes and collect a voucher to receive money off their next purchase with Joules.

Returned items will then be resold ‘good as new’, or otherwise repurposed or exported.

“The partnership bolsters Joules’ commitment to operating responsibly and sustainably, and the group’s continued focus on delivering in line with its Responsibly Joules objectives which benefit the environment, its employees and wider communities”, Joules said.

Ruby Fowler, Corporate Social Responsibility manager at the firm, added: “We recognise the huge importance of doing what we can to reduce waste and improve the circularity of our industry, and Reskinned’s efforts align closely with our own strategy and our wider Responsibly Joules framework.”

CEO Nick Jones also said: “As a business we are wholeheartedly committed to minimising our impact on the environment and supporting positive change within our communities. Our products have always been high quality, making them perfect for hand-me-downs, but through this partnership we are delighted that we will now be able to offer our customers another, sustainable way to trade the items that they’ve loved for a long time.”
