Two clothing brands have made their designer outlet debuts in York in the north of England, and in Scotland.

Lazy Jacks Clothing

First, Lazy Jacks Clothing has opening in McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet. The family-owned casualwear brand features its extensive range of “bright, fresh coloured clothing” for men, women and children, “all with a distinctive and nautical style… perfect additions for a stylish day at the beach, a city tour or staycation”.

Lazy Jacks, which employs over 40 staff in the UK, continues to expand with standalone stores opening across the country and said it plans make further expansion announcements.

Further north, RPMI Railpen has announced the launch of the first pop-up outlet store for luxury label Johnstons of Elgin within its premier designer village Caledonia Park in Scotland.

Johnstons of Elgin

Established in 1797, Johnstons of Elgin claims to be one of the last few remaining vertical mills in the UK still carrying out all the processes from raw cashmere and fine woollen fibres right through to the finished product.

Spanning 2,350 sq ft, the new boutique stocks collections from the label’s New Bond Street, London flagship store, including “timeless womenswear and menswear ranges”, alongside “luxurious textile accessories and woven home furnishings".

Railpen, which owns and manages the outlet retail destination, formerly known as Gretna Gateway Village, said it has undertaken a comprehensive refurbishment programme at Caledonia Park.

Mahmoud Attia, asset manager at RPMI Railpen, said: “Securing the first and only outlet site for a brand of this calibre, especially one with such a well-aligned Scottish heritage, speaks volumes for Caledonia Park and elevates the destination’s premium designer offering even further.

He added: “Caledonia Park continues to outperform national retail performance averages, and we are confident the entrance of Johnstons of Elgin’s pop-up will see this momentum continue”.
