After opening stores in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast earlier in the year, JD Sports will debut a Sydney in mid-July as the British retailer eyes a piece of the Australian sportswear market.

Set to open July 13, the Sydney store is slated for level 3 of Westfield Parramatta, the inner west region of the Sydney, and will be the first store to open in New South Wales, Australia's most populated state.

Like JD Sports' fellow Australian stores, located at Melbourne Central and Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast, the 400 square metre space will offer a range of global brands including Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, Reebok, Ellesse and The North Face. It will stock apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women, and children and will also sell 50 products that are JD Sports-exclusives to the Australian market.

In late June, the British sports retailer said it continued to expand the JD store estate across the UK and overseas in the last twelve months, with a net increase of 28 stores in the period to June 24, 2017. In addition to the two new Australian openings, JD Sports added a further two stores in Malaysia.

In 2016, the sportswear company had an exceptional performance with revenue up 28% to £2.3bn and operating profits strongly ahead of the prior year.
