JD Sports has completely overhauled its footwear and apparel distributor 2squared Agency with a major investment in marketing and infrastructure, amid ambitions to attract new long-term brand licences.

The agency has been launched with a new brand proposition and new website, and five new team members have been recruited to complement the marketing, e-commerce and creative teams. Additionally, London-based comms agency Brandnation has been brought on board to handle trade and consumer PR, while Leeds-based digital agency Rushh has been appointed to manage the new website, e-comms and SEO.

2squared Agency is also opening its first London showroom on East London’s Brick Lane and plans to develop its own brands in the long term.

“By structuring and strengthening our B2C marketing team the agency is geared up to grow our portfolio of brands, and we wanted a stronger B2B identity to underpin this agency proposition.  This ambition is supported by the opening of our first London showroom,” said Andrew Wright, 2squared agency head of marketing.

The agency was launched by two JD Sports senior managers, Neil Corrie and Martyn Harrison in 2006, and has grown into a business with over £10m turnover. Acquired by JD Sports last year, 2squared distributes brands including Champion, Diadora, Android Homme, Creative Recreation and Marshall Artist.
