J.Crew Group has announced a major UK expansion drive through John Lewis with both its J.Crew and Madewell brands opening concessions in the increasingly fashion-focused department store chain.

J.Crew and Madewell will expand in the UK via John lewis concessions

The first five J.Crew concessions will see the American brand expanding both in London and the wider UK with further openings planned, we’re told. Meanwhile Madewell is opening nine shop-in-shops.

The company opened the first of the five J.Crew outlets late last week and will roll out the rest this week with Oxford Street, Peter Jones (in Chelsea), Westfield London in White City, Cheadle and Bluewater all on the list.

The Madewell rollout comes after the company opened an initial store for that brand at Westfield London inside John Lewis earlier this year. The nine additional stores will include Oxford Street, Peter Jones, Cheadle, Bluewater, Cambridge, Cribbs Causeway, Liverpool, Southampton and Trafford.

Both of the brands will also be available on the John Lewis website, which is a growing contributor to the department store chain’s overall sales.

The 160-piece J.Crew collection will target the whole family with prices ranging from £8 to £350. John Lewis will also stock select collaborations such as the recently launched J.Crew x Abigail Borg line, which is the Birmingham-based print designer’s womenswear debut.

The Madewell offer will include its signature denim styles and co-ords. The collection will be priced from £12.50 to £498.
