House of Fraser announces new buying director

House of Fraser has hired Simon Pickering for the newly expanded role of Buying and Merchandising Director, overseeing the department store’s apparel and accessories collections.

Pickering has over 25 years’ experience in the retail industry, having held a variety of director roles at leading British and international brands including Fat Face, Arcadia Group, Debenhams and Gap.

He was most recently Chief Digital Officer at luxury clothing brand Reiss.

House of Fraser said Pickering will join the company on 12 of February, taking over responsibility for the buying and merchandising functions for apparel and accessories across House of Fraser’s house brands, own bought and concessions. He will also be responsible for product quality.

Pickering will report directly to Maria Hollins.
