H&M has opened a key new store in London’s Angel Central shopping destination with what it says is a “world-leading interior look and feel for the brand”.

As well as fashion, the new location also includes the H&M Home offer, plus click & collect lockers and self-service checkouts.

The store aim to “create a welcoming, modern and meaningful shopping experience where style, creativity and culture are celebrated,” said H&M UK & IE Expansion Manager, Christopher Clare.

“Through introducing new services, we hope to create a seamless customer experience within our Angel Central store.”

The Swedish fashion retail giant’s UK and Ireland portfolio has grown to include more than 200 stores since the brand first arrived in Britain in 1976.

But the business has made very effort to make this store different and said “customers visiting the new Angel Central store will notice a warmer, more welcoming interior and relaxed environment, and a lower volume of products which will be displayed in a curated and inspirational way”.

Sustainability is also “built into the foundation of the new Islington store, which offers H&M’s Garment Collection and Recycling service”. Launched in 2013, this allows customers to donate any unwanted clothes and textiles, by any brand, while shopping in-store. All donated items are recycled.

To encourage take-up, of the Garment Collection programme, H&M is offering Conscious Points in addition to a digital voucher.
