Described as a  landmark deal, worth around £100m with UK insurance giant NFU Mutual, it will deliver six new Grade A logistics facilities totalling over 1 million square feet, reported The Business Desk.

And one of those will be for footwear retailer Deichmann-Shoes UK at Centrix Park, Corby. Deichmann is expected to take possession of the purpose-built 162,500 square feet facility as early as January.

The remaining five units will include a 58,586 square feet industrial/warehouse/distribution building located opposite to the Deichmann building at Centrix Park.

At Castlewood Business Park, Nottingham, two units will be delivered, one at 176,817 square feet, and another at 134,192 square feet.

At EMDC (East Midlands Distribution Centre), there will be two buildings at 189,573 square feet and 249,418 square feet. EMDC has already attracted the 1 million square foot e-commerce Marks & Spencer distribution centre.

James Richards, director at Clowes Developments, said: “The deal demonstrates confidence in the marketplace.  This deal is by far the biggest transaction we have concluded as a group to date”.
