G-Star tests the online waters

G-star took advantage of the quiet month of August to open its online store. The denim brand put its first foot into the world of e-commerce trialing in three countries; Germany, Belgium and its domestic market, the Netherlands.

"We wanted to start with a trial. Our product offer online is high-end with the highest quality pieces from ranges Raw Essentials and Correct Line. It is a showcase of the brand’s image and its know-how," said Thibaut Van der Elst, Commercial Director of G-Star for France, Belgium and Greece. Buying for this online shop has been entrusted to Suzan Scheffer, head of merchandising and the buying manager of G-star’s only shop of its own, situated in Amsterdam. If successful, the shopping site could spread to other European countries.
