British fashion brand Fred Perry will open its first official store in Vietnam this month, according to social media.

Founded by Wimbledon tennis champion Fred Perry in 1952, the polo shirt maker announced last week on its Fred Perry Vietnam Facebook page that the new store will be located on Level 3 the Saigon Center in District 1.

The centre has undergone major refurbishment and expansion, and will also house the Japanese department store Takashimaya, a major drawcard to the mall.

All will open July 30 with the Fred Perry store expected to launch on the same day.

Known for its iconic 'laurel wreath' logo, the Fred Perry brand was purchased by Japanese distributor, Hit Union, in 1995.
