Fortnum & Mason to open new store in London

Plans to open a brand new, 2,368 sq ft Fortnum & Mason store at The Royal Exchange in the City of London were unveiled by Oxford Properties on Wednesday.

The new store for the luxury British brand will open in October, joining its famous 64,000 sq ft Piccadilly flagship and two smaller spaces in St Pancras and Heathrow Airport.

Ewan Venters, CEO at Fortnum & Mason, said: “Our arrival at The Royal Exchange brings together two iconic London institutions with a shared history in trade and commerce, and a shared passion in architectural heritage. We are driven to creating a world-class destination that brings the luxury and global charm of Fortnum’s to the prestigious environment of The Royal Exchange.”

Deborah Green, Director of Asset Management, at Oxford Properties, added: “The opening of Fortnum & Mason will be a memorable moment in The Royal Exchange’s storied history and will further enhance its collection of luxury shopping boutiques and dining.”

Located in the heart of the City of London, The Royal Exchange is a luxury oasis housing some of the world’s most exclusive brands including Hermès, Smythson, Watches of Switzerland, Boodles and Tiffany & Co.

A favourite of both British shoppers and tourists, Fortnum & Mason has become a leading renowned for its luxury gift, beauty and hamper sets. The department store also sells high-end jewellery, fashion accessories and fragrances.
