Fendi announces appointment of Giuseppe Oliveri as managing director of retail and wholesale

Published

The Paris-Rome connection between Christian Dior and Fendi is still alive and well. The two LVMH-owned luxury brands are continuing their exchange of executives and managers, which started at the beginning of the year with the departure of  Fendi CEO Pietro Beccari to take over at Dior. On Friday, it was announced that another executive is making the same journey in the opposite direction: Giuseppe Oliveri is leaving his role as general manager of China at the Parisian house to take over retail and wholesale at Fendi.

It's the latest move in a game of musical chairs, as his predecessor, Charles Delapalme, has left to take over Dior's commercial activities, a role in which he succeeds Serge Brunschwig, who is now CEO at Fendi following Pietro Beccari's appointment at the head of Dior.

This chain reaction will allow Giuseppe Oliveri to move back to his native Italy on July 1st. Fendi's new managing director of retail and wholesale began his career in banking, before moving into retail with Benetton, then Stefanel in Hong Kong. From there, he became general manager of Versace's Asia-Pacific region, before stepping in to lead Dior's Chinese operations in 2015.

Three years later and he will join Fendi this summer, shortly after the brand surpassed 1 billion euros in revenue under Pietro Beccari. According to its latest results, the luxury house also registered strong growth in 2017.
