Aaron Chatterley, who co-founded beauty e-commerce platform Feelunique and led it as its CEO until 2014, has confirmed he is rejoining the team.

“Over the moon to say that I’m back on the team at Feelunique.Really looking forward to working with the awesome team we have again on the next stage of this exciting journey and continuing to build amazing relationships with great brands,” he announced in a blog post earlier this month.

But he is not returning as a chief executive officer, even though the company has been without a CEO since the departure of Joel Palix in June.

According to Essential Retail, Chatterley is assuming a more operational role in the organisation, and his responsibilities will include helping the commercial team foster relationships with new and existing suppliers.

Since he stepped down as CEO five years ago, Chatterley has remained active in the business, maintaining a position on the board and a shareholding in the company. His new role is an extension of what he has already been doing on a part-time basis over the past few years.

“I am going back in a slightly more operational role with a focus on doing more of what I already do, which is help the company strengthen some of the relationships we’ve got and work more closely with our suppliers,” he told Essential Retail.

“At the same time, I’ll be helping onboard new brands. There is a wealth of new brands launching globally and there is an art to trying to pick winners and understand what resonates.”

One of the UK’s most popular online beauty destinations, Feelunique is searching for a new CEO to replace Joel Palix, who has stepped down to pursue other professional opportunities.

His duties have been handed over to chief operating officer Jim Buckle and chief marketing officer Jen Roebuck.
