A clothing festival dedicated to plus-size and alternative fashion is coming to Hoxton, London this July to combat the lack of shopping experiences for curvy women in the mainstream fashion world.

Hosted by Anti Diet Riot Club, the first Fat Girl Clothing Festival will be held at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on 1 July with a variety of size-inclusive brands and a host of body-positive influencers.

Confirmed brands include Plus Equals, Gypsy East Collective, Venus Libido, Head Blush Glitta Bar, Miss Gloria Design, Pot Yer Tits Away Luv, Sweet Mother Fluffer, Milk & Moon, Bearded Broads Club, Naomi Hop and Anti Diet Riot Shop.

Founder of Anti Diet Riot Club Becky Young said: “If you’re plus size, and often even if you’re bigger than a size 14/L, then shopping can be a stressful and traumatic ordeal… with a lack of styles for bigger bodies, inconsistent sizing, cramped changing rooms with 360 mirrors, and if there are plus size ranges in high street shops then they’re squashed into a corner and might as well have a flashing ‘FATSO’ sign above it!”

The event will also host a clothing swap shop, cocktails and a series of empowering shops with influencers like Megan Jayne Crabbe, Lottie L’Amour and Love from Danica, as well as Orange Buffalo street food, photobooths and live DJ music.
