Eddie Bauer promotes Damien Huang to president

Eddie Bauer has promoted Damien Huang to be its new president. Huang will lead design, merchandising, marketing, retail, e-comm, licensing, international and wholesale for the company which recently merged with PacSun.

Huang joined Eddie Bauer in 2010 as senior vice president of outerwear, accessories, and gear. He most recently was the SVP of merchandising and design where he led company strategy for product line management and product development as well as design and merchandising.

Prior to joining Eddie Bauer, Huang was VP of design and merch at Patagonia, having spent the first decade of his career at The North Face. He holds his undergraduate degree from Duke University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Commenting on the promotion in a release, Mike Egeck, chief executive officer of PSEB, the recently formed operating company comprised of PacSun and Eddie Bauer, commended highlighted Huang's previous successes at the brand, saying, "it comes as no surprise that performance product has grown at a double digit rate over the last five years under his leadership."

Huang commented that in his eight years with Eddie Bauer, he has seen improvement in the company's outdoor product as well as in "elevating our customer experience, using consumer insights to drive marketing and welcoming new customers."

In addition to announcing Huang as the new President, Eddie Bauer appointed two new VPs. The company named Mike Africa as VP of commerce, a role in which he will oversee retail and e-commerce. Mike Schulam was also named VP of merchandising, where he will lead channel and product line merchants.

Both executives will report to Huang, who in turn will report directly to PSEB CEO Egeck.
