This month, 70 Debenhams stores across the UK will feature a new womenswear label designed in-house by a female-led team.

Titled ‘Kley’, the department store’s new own brand taps into a growing demand for modern, clean cut and effortless clothing that satisfy dressing for the everyday.

Featuring leather skirts, silk blouses and cashmere blends, the label’s aesthetic echoes that of brands including Whistles and John Lewis’s Kin as it focuses on curated seasonless wardrobe that you can build up and layer on.

“Kley is about effortless styling solutions for the everyday. The collection is a combination of timeless wardrobe staples and ‘must have’ pieces, offering items which we hope will be loved for years,” said Lucia Heffernan, Kley designer.

In addition to timeless knitwear and silk classics, the collection includes loungewear, leather handbags and ballet pumps and boots.

With prices ranging from £20 to £220, Kley is also launching online on 16 September.

'Kley' is Debenhams' latest effort to lure shoppers back to the department store after a tough period. The British chain fell into administration in April this year and was acquired by its lenders shortly after.
