Condé Nast announces launch of Vogue Singapore

Published
Jan 17, 2020

Condé Nast’s Vogue is launching its latest edition in Singapore via a license agreement with publisher Indochine Media, marking the publication’s 27th international edition.

Condé announced that the newest edition of Vogue will launch in the fall of this year with an English-language print issue, a website and presences on all relevant social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Previously, Vogue published a Singapore issue from the mid-to-late 1990s, and reportedly struggled to compete within the South East Asian country’s fashion media landscape. The publication re-enters the country as Singapore’s luxury fashion market boasts a market volume of $940 million USD, according to a 2020 Statista report.

“Vogue Singapore rejoins the market at a time when Singapore’s local fashion design and talent are rising in the country and across the entire region,” said Wolfgang Blau, chief operating officer and president, international, Condé Nast.

“Vogue Singapore will play a vital role in boosting and supporting that talent as well as in bringing regional and international ideas to this edition of Vogue.”

An editor-in-chief for the new publication is yet to be announced. The Singapore launch follows the launch of Vogue Hong Kong in 2019.

Other fashion media brands who run editions in Singapore include Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Nylon, T: The New York Times Style Magazine and L’Officiel, among others.
