Coach is investing in its marketing by strengthening its management. The American leather goods company has created a marketing directorial position, naming Carlos Becil ‘Senior Vice-President Chief Marketing Officer.’ Formerly, a role entitled ‘President of Marketing, Digital and Customer Relations’ existed at the brand, and was occupied by David Duplantis, who was thanked by the brand in April of 2016 despite the intense managerial reorganisation that was ongoing at the time.

Equipped with an MBA from the Ross School of Business from the University of Michigan, Carlos Becil launched his career at Nestlé USA and Kraft Foods. He served in marketing at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, amongst others, before arriving at the American luxury fitness chain Equinox, where he directed the company’s marketing and digital transformation in the role of Chief Marketing Officer from 2014 until 2017.

Becil left Equinox in January 2017 to join Coach, where he will work in direct relation with Andre Cohen, President North America and Global Marketing. He will be supported by Nicolas Cormier, who, poached from Michael Kors, will operate from London as Marketing Manager.

Before his arrival at Michael Kors in 2014, the French recruit served in marketing at WGSN and Bon Marché.
