Castore to open 2,000 sq ft Glasgow standalone store
Fast-growing sportswear retail brand Castore is to open a new store in Glasgow in early September, its first standalone flagship in the city.
The 2,000 sq ft ground floor and basement site on Buchanan Street will be in addition to Castore’s partnership store within Scottish Premiership football club Glasgow Rangers FC’s ground.
The new location will create 20 new jobs in the area and was selected to align with Castore’s “high quality products”, with neighbours including retailers such as Nike and House of Fraser, noted landlord Savills.
Castore will offer a range of new and exclusive own-brand products at the site, including the Technical Lifestyle Collection and Garcia Capsule Collection, as well as a range of exclusive Rangers FC product launches.
Castore co-founder Tom Beahon said: “We already feel at home at the City thanks to the brilliant Rangers FC fans and it’s great to be able to offer our full range to meet both sporting and lifestyle needs”.
Stuart Moncur, head of national retail at Savills, added: “Buchanan Street in Glasgow continues to evolve and attract the best brands and occupiers, with these latest lettings highlighting the continued confidence in bricks & mortar retailing, in the strongest locations. We expect to be able to share more news shortly regarding further new occupiers to Glasgow city centre”.
Castore currently has high profile partnerships with tennis star and investor Andy Murray, England Rugby Union Captain Owen Farrell, Masters winning golfer Patrick Reed, plus soccer teams Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Glasgow Rangers.
