Capsule Paris: a predominantly English edition

Published
Jan 21, 2015

Acquired last year by Reed Exhibitions, the trade show Capsule is once more returning to the Cité de la mode et du Design for its latest Parisian edition.

With over 200 exhibiting brands, this year will focus on streetwear, including the New Yorkers from Hood Hair, who recently received the 2014 LVMH Young Fashion Designers award, as well as Off-White, the label from Virgil Abloh, Kanye West’s creative director.

Another trend this time around: Modern Tailoring, and the presentation of collections from Danish brand Han Kjobenhavn, which started out with a focus on eyewear accessories, although it now encompasses a full wardrobe inspired by workwear and military and vintage pieces. There will also be the British duo Baartmans & Siegel, whose 2015 winter collection revisits the 70s.

The Brits will be out in numbers this year, Capsule having decided to bring together designers such as Itokawa Film and Garbstore, as well as the new emerging London fashion scene represented by London's Fashion East (the association funded by Topshop, TOPMAN and the Greater London Authority) which this year will unveil collections from Alan Crocetti Jewelry collections, Roxanne Farahmand and Edward Crutchley.

Capsule will also be putting the spotlight on the Korean fashion brands making a buzz (Document, Customellow...), not to mention the emerging Japanese and American labels (brand Miansai jewelry, Keneth Ning, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam...).

France will be represented in particular by Cuisse de Grenouille and the Les (Art)ists label, which borrows inspiration from American Football jerseys. Belgium, meanwhile, will have Very Important Pixels, the pixelated t-shirt collection designed by Kristof Saelen.
