Starting this month, the support programme helps small fashion businesses with a minimum of £10,000 in sales overcome some of the issues they are facing, and provides expert advice and workshops on an array of topics, from branding and production to finance and legal.

Underwear brand Marieyat, womenswear labels Supriya Lele and Alistair James, streetwear-inspired social project LLSB (Long Live Southbank,) sustainability-focused menswear Bethany Williams, contemporary menswear brands, Danshan and Jordan Luca, and textiles specialists Hours will join the latest wave of the Fashion Pioneer Programme.

“We are very honoured to be chosen to join the programme. With the help of the CFE team, we hope to take the business to a more professional and sustainable level,” said Marie Yat, the designer behind Marieyat’s hybrid concept which focuses on seamless knitted undergarments.

Supriya Lele combines her Indian heritage with British culture in her luxury womenswear brand, while LLSB creates limited-edition projects with the likes of Adidas and Palace to ensure the future of Southbank Skate Park. There is also a social aspect in Bethany Williams’ brand, with sustainable men’s pieces and a mission to raise awareness about several social and environmental issues.

Alistair James is a luxury womenswear brand by Nicholas Alistair Walsh and David James Wise, and Danshan is a menswear brand trying to redefine the codes of men’s fashion. Finally, textile specialist Hours is defined by handwoven, silk screen print and innovative dye processes, while Jordan Luca merhes Italian heritage with London’s streetwear culture.

The eight brands were selected by a panel of experts including journalist Jess Bumpus and Label/Mix CEO Gemma Metheringham.
