Fashion start-up Bow & Drape is the first brand to offer its customers 3D printed wearables with the launch of a of line metal-accented accessories. In collaboration with Shapeways, the company offers a choice of six buckle designs to complement its interchangeable belts, as well as pull for a line of clutch bags.

For Bow & Drape ,who already gives customers the chance to choose personalized fits, colours and embellishments of clothing items, a foray into the relatively new world of 3D printing is a natural extension for the brand.

For CEO Aubrie Pagano, the move into 3D printing is a step towards a ‘me-commerce’ model that provides customers with a highly-personable commerce experience. She says: “everyone knows designers' most loyal and successful customers are the ones that they work with privately to create totally personalized fashions. We are simply allowing more customers access to this service model."

Pieces made using 3D printed metal components with cost between $48 and $148 and will be shipped to the customer within two weeks.
